I am thankful for forgotten vouchers
Losing it has an upside.
24 November 2009
As I flew back to Los Angeles last December, Delta bumped me and gave me a $400 voucher. Which I Tweeted. Which I told myself I wasn’t going to forget. Which I forgot completely, of course, as I bought a ticket several weeks ago.
Well whaddyaknow, late last night I was cleaning — minor miracle — and saw the voucher as I reached the bottom of a pile. Couldn’t believe it! And since it’s about to expire, I quickly schemed to buy a ticket for Thanksgiving. I wasn’t going to travel for Thanksgiving, you see, in order to save some $$$, but my crappy memory ended up serving me well inasmuch I’ll be home for T-day! I am thankful for forgotten vouchers. I am thankful to be losing my edge.
just two days ago, while cleaning out my cotton ball/shoe string/empty medicine container/nail polish/bobby pins/spare buttons/etc drawer, I found a $100 gift card. It expired 9/08. SHOOT!! But I called on Friday and they are issuing me a new one.
Sweet!
Finding things worth value just in the nick of time is awesome!
(much better than finding a used tissue in last year’s winter coat…)

Glad they’re issuing a new one, but … you keep empty medicine containers?

yes, because sadly I’m allergic to almost everything I take and it’s easier to keep the bottles than to keep the names in my brain.
I mean, I guess I could put everything down on a spreadsheet or something…
