Chick-fil-A in Hollywood

Saw this dude protesting outside the brand-new Chick-fil-A in Hollywood, at the corner of Sunset and Highland, where the new normal is probably going to be lines of cars around the corner, interfering with traffic. Boo.

The guy is protesting the close affiliations and donations between this restaurant chain and Focus on the Family (evil), which I’d heard before, but he also says that Chick-fil-A has a retreat center where they have meetings only for married straight employees (creepy).

Well, we know one thing for sure. It’s a trend we see all the time, with Focus on the Family’s James Dobson being a shining example. Remember when he took a gay prostitute to a hotel room? Yeah, that. So the thing we know for sure is this: somebody who runs Chick-fil-A is a closeted homosexual.

I got a robocall from (269) 768-2217 and when I asked to be put on their Do Not Call list, they hung up on me. Pure evil. Be warned! Do not answer! Wish I hadn’t!

The only tilting bridge in the world

I love learning of new things that I can’t believe I’ve never heard of yet. There’s a new(ish) bridge in England that tilts! Watch the time-lapse video below. Cool.

I learned this via QI: “The Gateshead Millennium Bridge linking Gateshead and Newcastle across the River Tyne is the world’s first and (so far) only tilting bridge. It is so energy efficient it only uses £3.60 worth of electricity every time it opens and closes.”

I’ve been experiencing exactly what Dave mentions at the above link: automated calls requesting somebody named Jeffrey to call 800-414-8319. I called and told Palisades Collections to stop calling my home number. Whatever you do, don’t enter your SSN at the prompt! And don’t give them any personal information whatsoever, including your name.
